The body is stimulated by proper exercise, which both strengthens and relaxes. We all must travel a long distance in this physical body. If we do not care for it, how can we reach our goal?
~Swami Kripalu
I believe that it is important for You to understand your physical self and to stay healthy in ways that you enjoy. I participate in many activities and I have taught Kripalu yoga, ballroom dancing, and fitness for dancers.
I am a firm proponent of safety. By developing your own strength, flexibility, and cherishing your limits you can avoid injury and promote healing when you exercise.

200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher
Kripalu Yoga Teachers Association My life is currently in transition so I am not offering classes. There are many health benefits to yoga, and this isn't just me claiming so from afar. I am a scientist and research shows that yoga and meditation has significant health benefits for many people. Furthermore, I am not "naturally flexible" or the Buddha. I work hard and practice patience in order to understand my body and mind just a little bit better. I would love to direct you toward resources to learn more. |

Dance
I have experience competing, choreographing and teaching basic Ballroom (especially Latin) with the Carnegie Mellon Ballroom Dance Team. My favorite workshop to hold was titled "Sassiness and Improvisation" - a time for new dancers to forget patterns and instead discover how they could move their body confidently.
I love social dancing. I frequent local dances for Swing, Blues, Salsa, Ballroom, and anything new that comes along. My current favorite is West Coast Swing, but I love to try new styles and meet other dancers. I am currently a member of the Napa Dance Club. In the spirit of variety I have also tried Contemporary, Hip-hop, Pole Dancing, Zumba, Belly Dancing, Musical Theater, and more. I have a reasonable foundation in Aerial Silks. Although I do not teach these styles, the experience helps me relate to dancers from any background and inspires me to try new moves. |
